New record out now, available for download!
I had so much fun working on this great new record by JULIA HOLTER.
I’m not in the vid but both my upright and fretless are well represented on this track, and throughout the record. Nice to be able to give nods to both Mick Karn and Eberhard Weber (and my hero Kate Bush by extension) on this one. Julia and co are great people and great musicians.
Check out the record! :)
The full film APPROXIMATELY NELS CLINE by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Okazaki is screening in theaters around the country,

I’m really excited to announce the online-release of my new record,

Recorded live in Chicago, this music explores the intersections of late 70-s-early 80’s “post-punk” and the electric avant-garde (or “free funk”) of roughly the same period, through the lens of of the continued musical and social relevance of these movements.
